Derek tried to tell me that it is impossible to swallow cinnamon, I decided to prove him wrong ! Unfortunately I failed, I blame the laughing more than the cinnamon.

While in Denver, my friend Jeremiah and I visited the Museum of Nature and Science. I snapped this while going through the “rock” section of the museum. Colorado has a bunch of different mines and ore. The below picture is what happens when you shine UV light onto the rocks. Different ore return different color. It was pretty neat !

Ruby Tuesday

If you’re like me, you probably enjoy the game Tetris. Unfortunately it has become stale and boring through out the years. Then came along Tetoris which adds a nice challenge to the classic game :)

I find this hilarious. Basically it is a facebook app that will give you a coupon for a free whopper if you delete ten friends. Guess it shows up on your activity list that you sacrificed him for a free whopper.
 
I think that is the best facebook app I have ever seen ! Too bad I don’t eat whoppers ;)

My coworker had a few alcohol wipes on his desk, the contents read 70% alcohol and 30% water. It got the gears working, and we wondered if they would light being 30% water. Science demanded an answer, so we broke out a lighter ! :-)
 
As you can see from the photo, the wipe itself does not light on fire. The alcohol is what was burning, and it sure was neat ! As it burned the area the flame covered contracted towards the middle until it was gone.
 
I had to doctor the photo a little, I haven’t figured out how to take clear shots in the dark without all of the noise :-(

My sister, Laura, and I got a pedicure on New Years Eve. It was a lot of fun, I will do it again ! When my Aunt got one a few weeks ago they put a snow man on her toe, so I decided I wanted the batman symbol. It totally rocks my socks ! :-)

Friday was an awesome night ! I was bored while everyone was at work, so I made peppermint bark.

I also had tickets to see Presidents of the United States of America ! Two of my brothers along with two nephews hung out with me at the PUSA concert, and it was amazing ! I think the most stressful part about getting ready to fly home was forgetting the tickets :)

After the show I kept Derek and Larry company at the shop. I had some work to do anyways ;) We got home around 4AM, and figured out everything is funny when we’re so tired. My parents have nut crackers all over the place for Christmas. We felt we needed to help decorate with The Urkel. Nevermind, it is still awesome and hilarious two days later ^^

Apparently I don’t update enough, figure once a month is pretty good ;)

Work has been going great, I mostly go with the flow. More projects are coming up that keep me busy. Most of the time I go through all of the scripts I have written at work, and rewrite them. Which may seem a bit redundant, or even busy work, but I have learned quite a bit since most have been written. This one in particular I was able to cut it down in half (went from 220 lines of code down to ~100). I don’t normally use a lot of short-hand code, but there have been speed improvements and it looks cooler :D

A few months back the gang got together for a Rock Band party. We rocked all night with our cool outfits and our mad skillz. It was a blast and I look forward to the next one. I finally got hold of a larger TV, so I am thinking of holding the next one at my here. It will be a blast !

Below is a picture of Emily, Myself (Steve), Laura, and Jeri in the Twist ‘n Twirl at the state fair in August. It was great fun. Especially since we got some awesome momentum and that thing spun the entire time :D

Most of my free time these days is spent hanging out with friends. I was at Emily’s house one night for a movie, her and Jeri were working on their projects. I had no projects so they started to teach me how to knit. Below is a picture of ‘Little Steve’, at the moment it looks more like binary sudoku than a scarf, but it’s getting there :)

This past Friday (9/19/2008) was Talk like a Pirate Day, and we celebrated it awesome…even had cake :) Yes matey, it was a fine day to knit and talk like pirates, arrr.

What be a pirate’s favorite letter ? P, it is like an R but missing a leg!

Most of this month I have been trying to go up to Flat Top Mountain again. I climbed it last year with coworkers and had a blast. This year though, the weather has not been with us. Last Saturday on the other hand, the weather was not too bad. My friend Laura and I went on up to Flat Top to conquer it !

On our trek up to the top, the patches of blue berries distracted us. We spent the day picking 24 ounces worth of blue berries :) I have mine frozen, great on oatmeal. Now I want to learn to make jam :D
