Here is a fine example of something not to do…I am a professional so it is OK. Here is a cute picture of a baby moose, and a picture of an angry mommy moose. Notice the ears being back and the hair standing up on her back ?
After the shot was taken I promptly rode out of there. I was almost killed, but wanted to take this shot for you. Enjoy ^_^
Derek tried to tell me that it is impossible to swallow cinnamon, I decided to prove him wrong ! Unfortunately I failed, I blame the laughing more than the cinnamon.
I feel I need to spread the word when I figure stuff out. It does no good if I keep it to myself. The lesson for this week is consuming dairy before a run is a big noes noes. I am not sure if it was the cinnamon sugar milk I had at dinner, or the chocolate cake with cream cheese frosting, but two miles into my run, my stomach sure didn’t feel good. I think I made a milk shake in my tummy.
The only time I experienced something like this was consuming about six to seven bean burritos (the awesome ones that is like a crack wrap) before going skating with Larry. For those that don’t remember, it involved a tree at the school since I couldn’t make it home in time ;)
Yeah, I am pretty sure I would rather experience the burrito experience than the milkshake tummy ;)
Saw three more moosen on my run tonight. Felt better this night since the sun was actually out. I sure love sunset being 10:30 ^_^
I was reminicing my New Orleans trip and these are a few of my favorite finds throughout the city….
Just kidding, I never went to New Orleans, but my sisters did. The above photo was taken by my sister Laura. She has been strung up about water-marks thinking they will stop someone from stealing her photos.
The above photo came directly from her website. So I think I just proved her wrong ;)
I came across this article today. San Francisco’s Department of Technology attempted to fire this dude, but it appears he didn’t like that. He locked all other administrators out of the system, now only his account has access.
He is sitting in jail with four counts of computer tampering. My guess is that he will probably use this as leverage to get off or a lighter sentence. Especially since it will cost the city “millions” to crack his password.
Most smart companies disable someone’s access and then walk them out. It appears he may have been told to clear his stuff out and still had access for this, or he knew it was coming and was prepared.
My question is why they cannot just change the password themselves. I don’t know the platform of their systems (assuming either Windows or some flavor of Unix). My point is they have physical access to the equipment, I would think with that access they could get access without paying millions of dollars.
I received a nice email today, sort of find it funny.
Dear Chase account holder,
Chase is constantly working to ensure security by regularly screening the accounts in our system. We have recently determined that different computers have tried logging into your Chase account, and multiple password failures were present before the logons.
blah blah blah
To securely confirm your personal information please follow the link bellow:

Note: If you received this message in you spam/bulk folder, that is because of the restrictions implemented by you Internet Service Provider.
Reason I find it funny is because yesterday I could not remember my account information for the life of me and was trying to guess the information for a good two hours ( what a silly coincidence :D ). Sad that my account was not locked in the process, but that’s another matter.
I really find it sad that people fall for these scams. I would think that if a problem was wrong with my account I would phone them up instead of going to a website. Something I find interesting though is that the IP address they have you click is from Koria, but the URL redirects you to the ‘correo.alerta.com.mx’ domain, which is registered to someone in Mexico.
Anyone know of any statistics of the percentage of these emails are generated from rooted computers ?
SOUTHWORTH, Wash. (AP) – A man trying to loosen a stubborn lug nut blasted the wheel with a 12-gauge shotgun, injuring himself badly in both legs, sheriff’s deputies said.
The 66-year-old man had been repairing a Lincoln Continental for two weeks at his home northwest of Southworth, about 10 miles southwest of Seattle, and had gotten all but one of the lug nuts off the right rear wheel by Saturday afternoon, Kitsap County Deputy Scott Wilson said.
“He’s bound and determined to get that lug nut off,” Wilson said.
From about arm’s length, the man fired the shotgun at the wheel and was “peppered” in both legs with buckshot and debris, with some injuries as high as his chin, according to a sheriff’s office report.
“Nobody else was there, and he wasn’t intoxicated,” Wilson said.
The man was taken to Tacoma General Hospital with injuries Wilson described as severe but not life-threatening.
I have been seeing this in the news a lot lately, many rallying calling the decisions unfair. The student’s of this backwater school in Louisana still sit in black and white sections ( having lived in the south, sadly I am not too surprised :( ).
The black students normally sit on the bleachers at lunch and the white kids sit near the ‘White Tree’. Well last year this black student asked for permission to sit in the shade of the white tree, they were told they could sit where they wanted. The next morning three ass hats hung three nooses in the tree, no crime was committed, but the principal felt it was a racial attack and recommended the students be expelled. That was over ruled but he was able to get them suspended for three days.
There were other racial fights and encounters since then. One of the last one was a group of black kids beating up a white kid, nearly killing him. The group of black teens were arrested and charged with assault. Guess all but one was released after a period of time, the one that remains in jail is the oldest and has a previous record. The group has since been called the Jena 6.
Now there are protesters claiming that the white kids who hung the nooses were not punished for their crime because they were white. How stupid are people ? The crime those white kids committed was being racist assholes. No one was physically harmed in the hanging of the nooses but the Jena 6 nearly killed someone because they were angry.
Throwing out the ‘woah is me, my ancestors were enslaved and oppressed so I require special treatment’ card is really old. If you break the law you, you should expect consequences. Not everything is about race, it is about actions and when you are not man enough to live up to your actions.
So a recap, the white ass clowns that hung the nooses were not arrested because they committed no crime. The Jena 6 were arrested, not because they were black, but because they nearly killed one. Quit being so sensitive and get on with life.
This is not the first time I have encountered this, but I am sad to see it is more common than I realized. It is almost the year 2008, we can destroy cities with a nuclear bomb, we send people to space all the time and probes across the solar system. We can do all of that yet companies still do not have the “ability” to cancel an account at a future date.
Today I called Verizon to have my DSL service terminated at the end of the month. The lady informed me that if I canceled today I would to pay the contract early termination fee of $75. I asked when the contract would end, she replied on Sept 1st. So I then asked her to set the account to terminate on the 1st understanding that I would still be billed for that month ($30 bucks is sure better than $75 imo). Even Tmobile, the company that does not have the technology to block text messages, was able to have my account cancel on Sept 1st when I called two weeks ago.
I first encountered this with Sirius last year, since they are a pretty new company I figured their billing system was not that advance so I didn’t think anything of it. But this is Verizon we are talking about, I find it pretty ass backwards that I have to call in the day I want the service canceled instead of them setting the date in their system.
I was joking about this at work and learned that a few other companies do the same crap. My favorite story though was a buddy who was paying for an extra line on his phone plan for his sister. She was going out of the country and wouldn’t be able to use the service, the representative was more than glad to suspend the account; the catch was that he would still have to pay for the service, just that she couldn’t use the service since it was suspended :D
The only reason I can think of is that they figure canceling service is like mail in rebates. People will forget to do it so they can leach more money from the poor consumers. Since last time I called I was on hold for nearly 40 minutes, I am not looking forward to calling them next week :(
I am a brother, a son, a friend, and at least one other thing. Most of my pass time involves having fun in some sort of fashion.
I code, I game, I also enjoy cooking and photography. I am learning new things everyday with my mistakes. With luck I can take those mistakes and improve my skills :)
